A BRIEF HISTORY OF CSK
The origin of CSK dates back to 1972 when its founder Chris Stoney bought his first Racing Kart, a 210 Villiers. Finding himself at a disadvantage through the lack of power and being an engineer by trade he soon started tuning the engines to gain more and the CSK marque was born.
Making the switch to Class One Chris and CSK became the Hewland agent for the North of England and CSK Hewland Arrow engines were flying out of the door (as well as round the circuits).
1980 saw a move to the 125 Rotax gearbox class where CSK Engines again reigned supreme for many years. In 1983 Chris acquired his first Dyno an ex BSA “Heenan & Froude DPX1” and Chris’s love for dyno’s started.
After some 17 British Championship titles in classes from 125cc to 250cc Superkart Chris eventually hung up his Race Suit and concentrated on other business commitments. Like all true racers this didn’t last long and the new Millennium saw Chris return to the track this time in F3, Caterham Superlight’s and Radicals taking both SR4 & SR3 titles.
When his son Shane started to show an interest in Racing Chris’s attention turned to him and his first car a G20 Ginetta Junior was purchased. After a switch to front wheel drive and “Saxmax” a couple of years saw Shane starting to rack up the Championships “Saxmax” as a Junior and then two MINI Challenge Titles.
It was clear to Chris, especially in one make Championships, that the use of a dyno was a must and after a few years of renting other “Rolling Roads” decided to bite the bullet and buy one but the only question was which type. After some research the decision was made a Dynapack 900 BHP 2WD Hub Dyno. It was also a forgone conclusion that to get the best from any car attention to detail was a must therefore the investment into both a Shock Absorber Dyno and a Fuel injector Service Center was made. All this put together helps customers to gain the edge over their competition.
